Our amazing Dragon’s Apprentice team from Hemel School ran a very successful quiz night in Friday 26th January. It went very well, with around 80 people there, and the quiz, raffle and extra games were very smoothly organised, and resulted in a profit of around £575, giving a running total for the project of over £1,800 already, with another fundraiser still to come, before the end of fundraising in the middle of February. As their original target was to raise £1,000, they’ve done fantastically, and are in line to double this. Well done to all of them, their business mentors and supporting school staff.
Wishing all our amazing volunteers, supporters and customers a very Happy New Year. Thank you for everyone’s support during 2017. We are looking forward to another successful year ahead.
Winter trips are great fun too! We’d love to welcome you on board our lovely, cosy boats over the Winter period. We have decorated the boats for your comfort and enjoyment, and added hot chocolate and marshmallows to our refreshments. Winter trips run from November to March, with our Festive Christmas cruises running throughout December which include mulled wine and mince pies.
Co-op Local Community Fund
The Co-op very kindly chose Waterways Experiences as their local charity for 2017 to help raise money to provide a 4 day residential canal trip for teenagers with special needs and a weekend trip for young carers aged 8-14 yrs.
Thank you Co-op Local Community Fund and thank you everybody for your support – you raised a fantastic £2848.02 which will fund not only the 4 day holiday but also cover the nearly all the costs of a full week holiday in August for disadvantaged teenagers. Read about our Enable holidays
